SEH Leadership Transition

Richard Ha, the founder of Sustainable Energy Hawaii (SEH), has reached the end of his term as Chairman of the Board of Directors. Richard will continue as an Ex-Officio member of our board and will join our Board of Advisors going forward.

Richard’s work is not done, however. His focus will be to amplify and motivate the importance of delivering affordable, renewable energy for all the people of Hawaii. This effort will launch via a media campaign entitled “Keoki and Malia – Energy Freedom”. Keoki and Malia are 2 young children, growing up in today’s world and looking toward an insecure future due to the cost of the energy we need to do virtually everything that needs to be done in life. Hawaii is a special place that has options to minimize the difficulty we see coming, but that’s only if we leverage that free, long-term source of energy we have under our very feet: geothermal heat.

Richard also has a vision for a place where Hawaiian culture and advanced scientific learning can come together in a setting upon Maunakea. A setting that is above the clouds. A place where we can experience the other free resource we have, the universe above our heads.

Below our feet and above our heads, Richard will be working to see that these resources are available to benefit all who live or visit our home … Hawaii Island.

Noel Morin will assume the role of Chair for SEH. Noel previously held the position of Vice-Chair.
